Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih Pole Dancing Photos: Muslims Protested

By - Published: Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

The swimsuit photoshoot of Rima Fakih who was a known Shiite Muslim.  She was also the winner of the just concluded Miss USA Pageant on May 16. There are also quite some interesting news about her spreading across the web. The first was the interest of people for Rima Fakih Swimsuit photo and now about the news about Rimah Fakih pole dancing.

We have obtained a photo of Rima Fakih swimsuit which you can see below. This photo had been obtained through a hared photo by one of our regular contributors. Just look at how hot she is.

Rima Fakih swimsuit might be causing a stir because besides being a Lebanese-American, their family is a known Shiite Muslim. Muslim women are being prohibited from making poses which are deemed to be haram to Islam. However, Rima says through they are Shiite Muslims her family celebrates elements of both the Muslim and Christian faiths. We also obtained information that Fakih’s family are not really Muslims.

Rimah Fakih Miss USA 2010 swimsuit photo is only one of the few evidences that she really has what it takes to be the United States candidate in the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant. She vested 49 other contestants in the recently concluded Miss USA 2010.

Earlier today, we have also scouted and found out about Rimah Fakih pole dancing photo on the web from Mojo in the Morning:

It was revealed that in 2007, she joined in a contest sponsored by the radio station Mojo. The contest is entitled “Stripper 101?. In the contest the contestants need to exhibit an erotic pole dance and be judged based on their performance. Rimah Fakih poledancing photo revealed also that though she was clothed there are a couple of dollars stuck in her bra.

When Mojo was contacted about this they made it clear that there were no male had been allowed in the premises during the contest. They also added that the contest objective is only to demonstrate dance moves and the Grand Prize will be given to the best dancer.

What is interesting however is when Mojo was asked what did Rimah Fakih pole dancing won. Mojo replied, “She won a personal stripping pole for her house and we had an adult company that gave away all kinds of toys and dirty things that make me blush.”

Here are more photos of the controversial Rima Fakih pole dance photos from Mojo in the Morning. Upon seeing these photos, I really cannot believe that she is indeed a Muslim with a religion of Islam. I mean, I know for a fact when it comes to women, Muslims are very conservative. Any comments from Muslim readers here?

I don’t want to judge her on the choices she’s made because she’s a grown woman well aware of what she’s doing. She’s not the first and she’ll definitely not be the last to go against the core teachings of Islam, which recommend dressing modestly.

I know ppl will be talking so I just want to add another comment. There’s a widespread notion that Islam oppresses women and the religion gives men all the rights and women, none. It’s not true and those that claim this view know nothing about Islam. And those that use Islam to oppress their women are not muslims. As far as the dress code is concerned, muslims are asked to dress modestly. Women don’t have to wear the burqa, that’s a personal choice and in some regions it’s traditional to wear one. Dressing modestly is freedom from sin. REspect, dignity, and personal integrity are at the heart of Islamic teaching.

Yes. Having religious ancestors and being a pole-dancer are two very different things. It is as if someone grew up at a brothel (or became a prostitute) and then you come to know that her parents or grandparents were Muslims; well it would be very obvious that such a person had left her religion far far away.

Not all Muslims are conservative. Lebanese women are very cosmopolitan and can be just as risque as American or European women.

As a Lebanese Muslim, I think I can probably relate most to Rima’s culture and traditions. Lebanon is a very diverse country, we love each other regardless of whether we’re Muslims or Christians and live peacefully together. There are many Muslims who don’t practice Islam, just like many Christians don’t practice Christianity. You can’t assume that just because a person is a Muslim, they follow their faith 100%. With that said, I want to add that Rima’s behavior goes against all teachings of Islam. Just like bombers who claim to be Muslims and kill innocent people in the name of Islam, where in fact, Islam frowns upon killing even one innocent soul. People are people and will always be just the way they are, each individual should be judged accordingly and shouldn’t be THE example for an entire faith, culture, or country. Rima and I went to high school together, she is in fact a Muslim, a non-practicing Muslim I guess. I don’t know much else about her.

Your website must not get a lot of readers? I see no comments. I stumbled upon this so I will help you with your curiosity.

According to her statements she does seem to indeed be Muslim. However, Lebanese people are a lot more open minded when it comes to what they wear and so on. So I don’t see anything weird about her being in a swimsuit and what-not.

As for the pole-dancing, it seems to have been a female-populated event and judged on dance moves, so I don’t see the big deal. As for the awards being handed out, is that really a big deal? Lots of women nowadays host sex toy parties, and this seems less harmless (not that what they do is harmful).

The dollars in the bra thing looks like it was done for the photo’s sake, and even if not, if there weren’t men present again I don’t see the big deal.

  8. Eliasoz says:

I must add though, that really does NOT look like her in the Mojo thing photos.

I’m a moderate Muslim – she can do whatever she likes. Doesn’t bother me, and it doesn’t bother the vast majority of Muslims. Now if you’re speaking culturally, people may (and will) have a problem, as they think she’s misrepresenting their culture. But otherwise, who cares, to each other own.

muslims, christians, judaism all prohibits bad behavior allowed by the western culture. christians do not allow premarital sex,yet 95% of christians are doing it,including catholics.
so don’t push the muslims to be real muslims when christians like yourselves are not being true christians.
even the christians authorities;priests raped children, but we don’t hear muslims making fun of them, muslims never said ” why priests raped children?isn’t that are not allowed in christians? moreover for christians authorities? “

I am a Muslim and I wear shorts, capri on a regular basis; bathing suite when I at the pool or at the beach. It is ignorant to say “I really cannot believe that she is indeed a Muslim with a religion of Islam. ” How many Muslim women wear “Hijab”? True Christians are not supposed to eat pork. I recall my friend in college refusing to eat pork because she was a “Christian”. I do see many Christian do eat pork – does that make them non-Christian? Just because Rima is not wearing “Hijab”. She is most likely a moderate or a liberal Muslim like many of us.

I believe this “Pole dancing” thing is blown out of proportion. Obviously there were no men involved. It was probably just a competition that she did for fun.

I wish Rima best of luck. I think if she is stripped of her title – then it is completely unethical.

Hi. Women in Islam are conservative when they are around non-family MALES in Public, but in the presence of other Women, Muslim women are like any other women in any other culture and society. They have needs and beauty concerns, sex appeal for their husbands as any other women. The Mojo show was ALL women attendents with no Men allowed on the premise (am assuming this to be a significant reason why Rimah would of attended this contest), and it was for a contest to show best dance moves and for a chance to win and learn moves for the sole pleasure and intention of pleasing their husbands back home in their privacy. Unfortunately these photos should not have been made public and national headlines, but this is how the media continues to destroy people’s accomplishments and in this case creating an image of Rimah Fakih as a stripper and destroying her reputation as a beautiful, graceful representative of Miss USA crown. I am confident that she (rimah) didn’t intend for these pictures to surface because she expected this contest to be private and away from the prying eyes of males. She did it for her relationship and that is of her business and private matter and not the public. peace

There are black sheep in every community.

As long as religion is concerned, God Almighty has asked women to cover themselves to guard their modesty, and display their beauty only in front of their husbands. This order of God is clearly mentioned in Qur’an as well as in bible. In fact the verse of bible says “A women who does not cover her head, ye shall shave her head”

But if someone does not wish to follow the commandments of God than obviously that person will answer to God himself/herself on the Day of Judgment.

The very last verse which was reveled to mankind from God (in Qur’an) says “You shall fear a day when you shall be returned to Allah (God) and every soul will be given what it has earned and no one will be dealt unjustly” (all souls will be judged as per their deeds done in this world).

So everyone shall remember that one day we all will answer to God almighty for all the good deeds and bad deeds we have done in this world.

    Hey,

I really dont think its that big of a deal. I mean reading your article i get the feeling that you think all muslims are the same which is not true. Just like with any religion, islam features a wide range or “commitments”. Everybody picks and chooses what they want to follow from the religious buffet. Sure there are super conservative muslims, there are fanatic muslims that went well beyond what the religion requires (or even allows), there are modern muslims and finally there are muslims like me. I drink and party like rock star but I also believe in God, I fast, I give the annual Zaka (donation to the poor). So I’m not surprised at all the she is muslim and doing these things its really up to her, her family and what they choose to follow from the religious buffet.

I’m not saying any of this is right or wrong, but I really dont see why you are that surprised at her behaviour. I’d be more concerned with the obvious face job that she did.

    have a good one ;)

Not all muslims goes by the book just like christians. What you see in the news is only the ugly side of the islamic world. In the arab countries , there is the stripper, the dancer, the actor, all… They are just like any other women. They are very strong women and very beautiful, they are also under so much pressure from the religious crazy people that keep labeling them as unfaithful. She has the right to enjoy life and have fun! why a moslim man can do whatever he wants and the woman cant? does god have diffrent rules for men?

  33. What is your business if she is a muslim, jew, or a christian. Do you make a big fuss if she is jewish, or your bosses will fire you… Go to Lebanon and you will find out that many women of all religions dress that way… Get a life, or a plastic surgery. Most likely you are jeolous of her….

  34. ahmad says:
    May 20th

she is accountable to Allah for what she is doing, but if she is not aware of that/doesn’t care/etc, what are you going to do? she wouldn’t have put herself in this position if she had whats called “taqwa” which is awareness/consciousness/healthy fear of God. it is said that a woman’s beauty can destroy her if she is using for destructive purposes. it’s pretty clear that lacking modesty and being a “tease” is under this category. but honestly, she may have not gotten the proper instruction from her parents as to the rights of modesty and its importance. I would say leave it to Allah as it is not really effecting any one of us. For the Prophet said: Part of being a good Muslim is leaving alone that which does not pertain to you.

  35. ahmad says:
    May 20th

It is also important to mention: The Prophet said: “Some people look like people of paradise and are people of hellfire, and vice versa.” So don’t judge. I would say the most important thing as far as being a Muslim is if she keeps her 5 daily prayers, fasts the month of Ramadan, and gives charity.

Conservative Muslim women might belly dance in front of other women, with no men present, of course. A good belly dance is more provocative than any pole dance. Don’t know whether the same conservative Muslim women would want photos of the event posted on the Web. As for the “naughty” adult toys, wouldn’t they be perfectly fine in a marriage?

    Just sayin’, that’s all.

1 Timothy 2:9 I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes.

So lol to the Christians who are like, “She’s not a real Muslim!”

    Religion is poison.

So before others judge her why don’t they work on getting their own lives perfect – then maybe they’ll have the right to judge others!!!!
