Worst Oil Spill in US History Record Goes to BP Oil Spill

Back in 1989, the Exxon Valdez released 11 million gallons of oil in Alaska. This 2010, The BP Oil Leak has surpassed the record of the Exxon with a commulative amount of 19 million gallons of oil release. U.S. Geological Survey Director Marcia McNutt disclosed that over the weeks, two different teams of scientists calculated that the BP Oil Spill  has been letting out 504,000 and more than a million gallons of oil per day. For the record, the BP OIl Leak now holds the record of being the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Meanwhile President Barack Obama will be skipping the wreath-laying rights on Memorial Day 2010 just to do an ocular inspection of the cleanup operations at the gulf.
