BP Oil Spill Live Feed Update: BP Deployed LMRP Solution to Prevent Oil Spill: In its latest update on BP Oil Spill, BP now turns to another oil spill solution after the most recent Top Kill Procedure failed to stop the oil spill which are continuously spewing thousands of gallons of oil into the ocean. BP now calls this oil spill containment method LMRP or Lower Marine Riser Package.

As of yesterday, BP announced that preparations are now ongoing for the deployment of the LMRP cap to seal the oil leak 5,000 feet under water. This particular oil spill solution will be much more complex than the previous oil spill solutions since it requires connection of the oil spill containment cap to a riser from the Discoverer Enterprise drillship and then placing it over the LMRP, with a sole intention to capture most of the oil and gas flowing from the well and transporting it to the drillship on the surface. In short, this oil spill solution will involve a channeling strategy to spit out the oil leak out of the ocean surface. Below is an image of the LMRP Oil Spill Solution:

As with any other oil spill solutions, this particular oil spill containment action involves risk and challenges for BP. First is the pressure coming that the oil leak is emitting. Second is the depth of water where the operation will be implemented. Time is running out as everyday, more and more people and animals gets injured by this BP oil spill.
