The CMA Awards 2010 winners had been completed in a star-studded ceremony broadcast live on the CBS Television Network from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. About half a million fans voted for the Entertainer of the Year which was bagged by Carrie Underwood, her second in a row.
Carrie Underwood is only the first female to ever win the CMA Awards 2010 Entertainer of the Year twice and the 7th female to bagged that award in its 40 years. Other female winners were Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, and The Dixie Chicks.
Carrie Underwood also won Top Female Vocalist of the Year and Top New Female Vocalist. Other CMA Awards 2010 winners were Brad Paisley who won Top Male Vocalist and Miranda Lambert for Top Female vocalist. This is Paisley’s fourth consecutive year as Top Female Vocalist.
Brooks and Dunn won as Top Vocal Duo while Lady Antebellum won their first Top Vocal Group award. Lady Antebellum is also the top winner in the CMA Awards 2010. They are now the most awarded in the history of the Academy of Country Music with a total of 27 awards.
The Home Depot Humanitarian Award which salutes an artist or group in the country music industry who is committed to serving others, has a generosity of spirit and dedication to helping build the dreams of those in need was given to Montgomery Gentry.
There are a total of 16 categories for the CMA Awards 2010 which were voted on by the membership of the Country Music Academy except for Entertainer of the Year and Top New Artist which includes the vote of fans.
