The trend is officially on as LL Bean and other brands not only in the clothing industry but also in other are returning to the classic trends. The trend pop-up during a time when people wanted simplicity due to the still ongoing financial crisis world wide. Consumers wanted to feel simple and less extravagant these times.
This trend was spotted by The New York Times where in long-established brands such as LL Bean return to the classics in the hope that old clothing styles with a classic feel will comfort consumers from a feeling of anxiety in troubled financial times like today.
Besides LL Bean, other brands which joins the parade of old classic looks are Jantzen and Eddie Bauer. Jantzem has updated its old swimsuit collection from early 2000 and presented it in an updated look.
Meanwhile, LL Bean’s new commercial shows a Signature Collection features an idyllic New England scenery on a tagline “Inspired by our heritage. Designed for today.” Sine LL Bean had been a well establish and long running brand the idea of tapping into its heritage might be a good idea to boost the brand.
As one fashion guru says, “The old always catches up with today,” so am sure that we will see more of the classic making a comeback this year.
