90,000 Toyota Vehicles Recalled in Japan – It seems that Toyota has been making it a habit already. 2010 has been unlucky for the Japanese Car company as it has done series of car recalls lately.

It was just early Thursday when spokesperson Mieko Iwasaki has told CNN that the company would recall 90,000 of its vehicles involving the luxury models Lexus and Crown in Japan because of an engine part failure. These vehicles have small valve springs made from low-quality metal that could crack, potentially causing engines to stall. The company has submitted all the documents to the Japanese government last Monday. They are also considering to have an investigation on the engine problems affecting 270,000 vehicles worldwide.

Fortunately, no cases of accidents or fatal injuries has been reported yet in relation to the problem. In most cases, owners will experience only abnormal idling or engine noise, Toyota said in a written statement.

The cars involved would include those models earlier that 2010. Approximately 137,000 vehicles in the United States could potentially be affected by it.
